FAQ

I know this process can seem a bit intimidating, so I try to make it as stress-free as possible. Below are some frequently asked questions I get from a lot of women. Hopefully it helps ease some of your fears right off the bat!

Where is your studio located?

My studio is located in Newfoundland, NJ. My clients have come to me from all over including NYC, PA, CT and even MA! It is right off of a main highway and has a full parking lot so you never have to stress about parking.

What if I’ve never done a shoot before and don’t know how to pose?

There is absolutely zero expectation from me for you to have any idea how to pose or what to do when you arrive. This is my job and something I know like the back of my hand so I guide you along every single aspect of it. I’ll pose every part of you from your general posture down to your eyes, hands and hair! You just have to relax and enjoy the ride.

Can I do my own makeup or have it done somewhere else?

The short answer is no, but hear me out. The style of hair and makeup is every bit as important as the lighting and photography. There are many different styles of makeup and I like for yours to reflect and compliment the effortless simplicity of the overall session. Too much makeup and, for lack of better words, bad makeup can have a massive impact on how the rest of the session goes. As in, even the best photography can’t produce a good image if the makeup is off. So, you’re in good hands knowing that the hair/makeup you get in my studio is 100% approved by me and is the same as all of the other women you see on my page.

How do I know what to pack?

Upon booking you receive my prep guide email. This email includes a link to my prep guide as well as my pinterest board. The prep guide will guide you with a list of general suggestions (sweaters, jeans, sporty panties, etc) as well as how to arrive at my studio and how to prepare for your session. The pinterest board is the holy grail! This is where you’ll be able to really narrow down what you love and use that imagery to more specifically guide what you pack. As in, if you love a photo of a woman in a white button up and sporty black panties, find yourself a white button up and sporty black panties. I always tell my clients more is more, so as long as you have multiple options we will be just fine!

Why does the editing take so long?

Once you pick your favorite images, I add it to my editing queue. This part takes about 3-4 weeks, which is longer than most other photographers in my genre because I take an expert approach to editing your images. I don’t just slap a smoothing filter over your pictures, I meticulously remove any distractions that take away from the overall focus of the images (you) while maintaining as much natural texture as possible. This includes blemishes, cellulite, background clutter, etc. Since different lighting, crops, even the sharpness of the photo emphasizes certain things that wouldn’t normally be as prevalent to the naked eye, this process enables me to keep the focus on the overall emotion and composition of the image rather than the eye being drawn to the distracting elements. The editing process I use is the same process that is used on images for magazines and advertising for big brands, so you are getting a quality that surpasses most other photography experiences. The end result is images that are of the highest quality, as you know I wouldn’t settle for anything less than the best! It’s worth the wait.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Just like everything else, I’m here to make this process as convenient and painless as possible. There is a $500 deposit due upon booking and from there you are welcome to break the payments up however you’d like. Some choose bi-weekly to coincide with their paychecks, some choose once a month like their other bills, and some just choose to pay the balance on the day of their session. My only requirement is that the entire thing is paid off on or before your session date.

Hey! If you have a question that I didn’t answer, don’t hesitate to reach out. I promise I’m not scary… a little awkward maybe, but definitely not scary!
